Possible plans for the St Thomas renovations

Here below are the links to the Option A Ground and First floor plans for the re-ordering of the Church, and the Option B Ground floor plan.
These are current but not final. They have been passed by the PCC.

The primary difference between the two options as they exist is in the congregational space: Option A shows some 70 chairs; Option B offers 100.

Option A shows the area under the bellringers’ gallery as available for uses other than worship. The additional seating in Option B occupies that space.

To follow Option B would be to facilitate the use of the West door access to the Church for weddings, funerals, and other congregational and processional requirements.
Tenants’ and their visitors’ access options exist in both cases: in Option A as through the West door; in Option B through the Church; or (not shown) through a North door lobby.

The commercial spaces proposed are pretty discreet. It is important to show a commercial potential.

The replacement of the pews with chairs satisfies the needs of many amongst our congregation. It also allows the body of the Church to be adapted to different events more easily.

The proposals must be regarded as a moving feast. Excellent feedback has already been made. More would also be welcome.
